The 3 Days Gorilla Tracking Experience is a once-in-a-lifetime wildlife adventure that takes you deep into the ancient rainforests of Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, home to nearly half of the world’s remaining mountain gorillas. This immersive safari offers a perfect combination of scenic road travel, cultural encounters, guided nature experiences, and an unforgettable gorilla trekking expedition.

Detailed Itinerary

Day 1: Transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park

Your safari begins with an early morning pick-up from Entebbe International Airport or your hotel in Kampala. You will start a scenic road journey to southwestern Uganda, passing through rolling hills, rural villages, plantations, and beautiful countryside landscapes.

Along the way, you will stop at the Equator crossing in Kayabwe for photos and refreshments. Lunch will be served en route in Mbarara before continuing through the stunning highlands of Kigezi, often referred to as the “Switzerland of Africa.”

Arrive in Bwindi Impenetrable National Park in the late afternoon or early evening. Check in at your lodge or tented camp, relax, and enjoy the peaceful sounds of the forest as you prepare for the next day’s life-changing experience.

Day 2: Mountain Gorilla Tracking Experience

After an early breakfast, you will transfer to the Bwindi Park Headquarters for registration and a detailed gorilla trekking briefing by Uganda Wildlife Authority rangers. You will be assigned a gorilla family and an expert ranger guide who will lead you into the forest.

The gorilla trek can last anywhere from 2 to 6 hours or more, depending on the movement of the gorilla family. The hike takes you through thick rainforest vegetation, steep ridges, vines, and valleys—an authentic jungle adventure.

Once you meet the gorillas, you are allowed to spend one magical hour observing them at close range. Watch the silverback lead the family, juveniles play, and mothers nurture their young. This is one of the most emotional and unforgettable wildlife experiences on Earth.

After the trek, return to the lodge for lunch and relaxation. In the afternoon, you may choose an optional Batwa cultural experience or community village walk around Bwindi, learning about the indigenous forest people and their traditions.

Day 3: Return Transfer to Entebbe / Kampala

After breakfast, you will check out and begin your return journey to Entebbe or Kampala with lunch en route. You will be transferred to your hotel or directly to Entebbe International Airport for your outbound flight, marking the end of your unforgettable 3-day gorilla tracking adventure.

Alternatively, this safari can be extended to include Lake Bunyonyi, Queen Elizabeth National Park, or Lake Mburo National Park.
