This 14-Day Best of Uganda Safari is the ultimate African adventure, carefully designed to showcase the very best of Uganda’s wildlife, landscapes, and cultures. The journey takes you from the vibrant city of Entebbe through the sweeping savannahs of Murchison Falls and Kidepo Valley National Parks, into the lush rainforests of Kibale and Bwindi, and finally to the scenic plains of Lake Mburo National Park.

Highlights of this unforgettable safari include rhino tracking at Ziwa Sanctuary, thrilling game drives in Kidepo and Murchison Falls, a boat cruise on the Nile, chimpanzee trekking in Kibale, and the once-in-a-lifetime mountain gorilla trekking experience in Bwindi Impenetrable Forest. Detailed Itinerary

Day 1: Arrival at Entebbe International Airport – Transfer To Hotel

Transfer Time: 15–60 minutes depending on hotel location

On arrival at Entebbe International Airport, you will be warmly welcomed by our professional safari guide. After a short briefing about your safari, you will be transferred to your hotel in Entebbe or Kampala.

Day 2: Transfer to Gulu City Via Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary – Rhino Walking Safari

Transfer Time: Approx. 6 hours total

After an early breakfast (7:00 AM), depart for Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary, Uganda’s only place to see rhinos in the wild. Upon arrival, you will register and be assigned a ranger for a guided walking safari, tracking the endangered white rhino on foot.

After the rhino experience, continue north to Gulu City. Once affected by conflict, Gulu is now a vibrant town full of life, culture, and resilience.

Day 3: Transfer to Kidepo Valley National Park

Transfer Time: Approx. 4–5 hours

After breakfast, drive to the remote and breathtaking Kidepo Valley National Park. Arrive in time for lunch and relaxation at the lodge.

Day 4: Morning Game Drive – Karamojong Cultural Experience

Start the day with an early morning game drive, the best time to spot predators and large herds of wildlife. Return to the lodge for lunch and rest.

In the late afternoon, enjoy a cultural walk to a Karamojong manyatta, where you will learn about their traditions, lifestyle, dances, and beliefs.

Day 5: Kidepo Walking Safari – Evening Game Drive

After breakfast, proceed for a guided walking safari with Uganda Wildlife Authority rangers. Explore dry riverbeds, rocky outcrops, bushland, and the beautiful Kidepo River Valley, known for its white sandy riverbed and Borassus palms.

In the afternoon, return for another evening game drive in Narus Valley.

Day 6: Transfer from Kidepo to Murchison Falls National Park

Transfer Time: Approx. 5–6 hours

After breakfast, embark on a scenic drive to Murchison Falls National Park. Arrive in the afternoon for lunch and relaxation.

Later, you may choose between:

Evening game drive

Optional night game drive to spot nocturnal wildlife

Accommodation: Fort Murchison Camp / Red Chilli Rest Camp (Self-contained bandas)

Day 7: Morning Game Drive – Boat Cruise to The Falls

06:00 AM: Morning game drive on the northern bank along the Nile Delta and Buligi tracks, famous for lions, giraffes, elephants, buffaloes, and antelopes.

Afternoon boat cruise on the Victoria Nile to the base of the falls, spotting hippos, crocodiles, and water birds.

Guided walk to the top of Murchison Falls, including optional hike to Uhuru Falls.

Day 8: Transfer from Murchison Falls to Kibale Forest National Park

Transfer Time: Approx. 7 hours

After breakfast (8:00 AM), transfer to Kibale Forest National Park, driving through lush countryside, tea plantations, and crater lake regions.

If time allows, enjoy a crater lakes tour in the evening.

Day 9: Chimpanzee Trekking in Kibale Forest

Activity Duration: Approx. 5 hours

Depart at 7:00 AM for Kanyanchu Visitor Centre. After a briefing, begin your chimpanzee trekking at 8:00 AM. You will trek through tropical rainforest to observe chimpanzees in their natural habitat.

Return to your lodge for relaxation.

Day 10: Sempaya Hot Springs & Amabere Ganyina Mwiru Caves

Transfer Time: Approx. 1.5 hours each way

Visit Sempaya Male and Female Hot Springs in Semuliki National Park with a short guided forest walk. Later proceed to Amabere Ganyina Mwiru Caves, featuring waterfalls, stalactites, and crater lake viewpoints.

Return to your hotel in Fort Portal.

Day 11: Transfer to Bwindi Via Ishasha Sector (Tree-Climbing Lions)

Transfer Time: Approx. 6 hours

After breakfast, drive through Queen Elizabeth National Park – Ishasha sector in search of the famous tree-climbing lions. Continue to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park (Buhoma sector) in the evening.

Accommodation: Broadbill Forest Camp / Buhoma Community Rest Camp
Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner

Day 12: Gorilla Trekking Experience – Bwindi

After an early breakfast, proceed to the park headquarters for a briefing before gorilla trekking. Accompanied by rangers, trek through dense rainforest to meet a habituated gorilla family.

You will spend one unforgettable hour with the gorillas.

Optional afternoon:

Batwa community walk

Day 13: Transfer to Lake Mburo National Park

Transfer Time: Approx. 4–5 hours

After breakfast, drive to Lake Mburo National Park, home to impalas, eland, zebras, buffaloes, topi, and Uganda kob.

Enjoy an evening game drive, with an optional night game drive for nocturnal wildlife.

Day 14: Transfer to Entebbe International Airport – Departure

Transfer Time: Approx. 5–6 hours

After breakfast, drive back to Entebbe via the Equator Line for photography and souvenir shopping. Continue to the airport for your international departure.
